EARTH CHARTER CITIZENS EVENTS
AND INFO:
Philadelphia
Earth Charter Citizens identifies, connects, and supports
collaboration among groups and individuals working on peace,
justice, and ecological sustainability issues. Using the
values contained in the Earth Charter as a framework for
community dialogue, planning, and action, this grassroots
network promotes universal responsibility for the well-being of
the Delaware Valley region and of the entire Earth community.
Our purpose is to celebrate our interdependence and the
opportunities inherent in collectively choosing and being
responsible for habits of mind, heart, and action generated
from a respect for nature, human rights, economic and social
justice, democracy, peace and nonviolence. We do this by:
organizing community forums; convening community calls
for dialogue and action; sponsoring an annual community summit,
and, by promoting groups and individuals already in action, as
well as working groups formed under its umbrella, working for
the vision represented by the Earth Charter’s principles and
values.
